Science of Sound and Music
Professional Learning Workshop
Two 90 minute virtual workshops
Audience:
Science Teachers from Grades 8 - 12
Date TBD from event registration
Participants will receive $400 Teacher Stipend for full participation.
You will learn how to use a series of web applications and hands-on learning experiences from the Science of Sound Music instructional unit to playfully explore and create sound. This workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Victor Minces, a neuroscientist of music and a sound artist who designed the web applications, and Dr. Alec Barron, the Director of the San Diego Science Project at UC San Diego.
Workshop Goal
Learn how to use resources from the workshop for planning and supporting learning on Phenomena Driven Instruction, Science Talk, and Modeling.
