Climate Champions Design Summit Spring 2024
Climate Champions“ at UC San Diego will host a two-day in-person Design Summit to partner teachers with research from Scripps Institution of Oceanography focused on local, observable climate phenomena of local relevance to you and your students.

About the event
Experience a sequence of learning on a local climate-based phenomenon. From exploration of this phenomenon, you will learn how to use the Understanding Global Change (UGC) framework with students to construct models and evidence-based explanations in any unit of instruction. The Design Summit will include opportunities to engage in hands-on activities and to think more deeply about teaching climate science using specific model-based teaching strategies, and will also include a large chunk of time for collaboration and instructional planning with other teachers.
