Climate Champions Design Summit
$300 stipend and Understanding Global Change Modeling Kit for teachers in grades 5-12
Two Date Options
June 10th and 11th

August 5th and 6th
At the Climate Champions Design Summit, you will experience a sequence of learning on a local climate-based phenomenon. From exploration of this phenomenon, you will be equipped to support students with using the Understanding Global Change (UGC) framework to construct models and evidence-based explanations in any unit of instruction. Additionally, you will learn strategies and tools to help incorporate an Earth systems perspective into your curriculum and adapt existing resources.
You will be provided a $300 stipend and an Understanding Global Change Modeling Kit (Estimated value of $400) for participating in the summit and community of practice meetings.

How will I participate?
When and How
Attend the summit:
June 10th and 11th OR August 5th and 6th
8:30am to 4:00pm
Attend the Community of Practice Meetings and Complete Surveys:
We will host multiple community of practice meetings and you will be asked to attend one of these events before you teach and after you teach with what you learn at the summit. Additionally, we ask that you complete some short surveys as part of your participation.

Food
A light breakfast and refreshments will be provided in the morning. There will be a 1-hour break for lunch on your own.
