About the event
Come and collaborate with Dr. Tarik Benmarhnia where he leads the climate change epidemiology lab at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. Â We will learn about the main physiological mechanisms through which heat is impacting human health and the role of humidity.
The Teacher / Researcher Collaborative is a program that helps K12 science teachers learn about the latest research in science, engineering, and education.  Whether it is Earth’s changing climate or new technologies involving CRISPR, science teachers have asked to engage in new learning experiences around content and phenomena that can support their instruction.
Each Teacher / Researcher Collaborative meeting begins with a research presentation on a phenomenon. Teams of teachers then work collaboratively with the researcher to plan out how to integrate what they learn into instructional practices with students.
