The Science of Sound and Music IN-PERSON Workshop
Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 at UC San Diego
$1,000 Stipend for 8th Grade Teachers
In this 1-day in-person workshop for 8th grade teachers, you will learn how to use a series of web applications and hands-on learning opportunities to playfully explore and create sound. You will experience an NGSS-aligned instructional unit that you can teach your students.

This workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Victor Minces,
neuroscientist of music and sound artist that designed
the web applications, and Dr. Alec Barron, Director of
the San Diego Science Project at UC San Diego.

Participants are eligible to receive an $1,000 stipend for
attending the workshop session and completing
light homework before and after event.
How will I participate?

Saturday, February 3rd: 9am to 3:30pm
Where
UC San Diego Main Campus
​Directions and Parking information will be provided after you register.
​
Food
A light breakfast and refreshments will be provided in the morning. There will be a 1-hour break for lunch on your own.
​
Stipend
Participants will receive a stipend of $1,000 for attending the workshop and completing some light homework before and after the event.
